Roadmap of China’s future space transportation system: building a space power in 2045.
CCTV News:The 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China clearly put forward the goal of building a space power. Today is the 60th anniversary of the official launch of China’s launch vehicle industry. The reporter learned from China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation that China is building a road map of the future space transportation system. According to the plan, by 2045, China will build a space power in an all-round way.
The launch vehicle is the basic means of transportation for human beings to enter space. Some experts said: "The space stage is as big as the capability of the launch vehicle".
Consultant of Science and Technology Committee of China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation Wang Liheng, Academician of China Academy of Engineering:To build a space power, we must first do a good job in strategic research, top-level design, and formulate this development route. In 2045, we will (comprehensively) build a space power. We have put forward a series of road maps and suggestions on space technology, space science and space application.
According to the space transportation system roadmap:
By 2020, China’s mainstream rockets will reach the international first-class level and provide diversified commercial launch services for the whole world.
By 2025, China’s reusable suborbital launch vehicle has been successfully developed, and suborbital space tourism has become a reality. Sub-orbit generally refers to the airspace 20-100 kilometers above the ground, which is between the highest flying altitude of existing aircraft and the lowest orbital altitude of satellites.
By about 2030, the heavy-duty launch vehicle will make its first flight, and the level and capability of the space transportation system will enter the ranks of the world’s space powers.
By around 2035, the launch vehicle will be completely reused.
By around 2040, the next generation of launch vehicles will be put into use, and the space transportation system will realize long-term and multiple interplanetary round trips.
By 2045, China has the ability to explore space in a large-scale man-machine collaboration, and its equipment and technology are generally in the leading position in the world, which strongly supports the full realization of the goal of becoming a space power.
